Originally created as a set piece for the Actium Knights web show, this 50 meter tall star ship reactor was the core of the titular Starship Actium. After lying derelict for hundreds of years in the Periphery, it is a wonder this thing runs at all! Numerous patches, odd bodge jobs, and questionable repairs were required, and it still has a very bad habit of leaking radiation everywhere and occasionally bursting into flames.
I actually made this model nearly two years ago, but am just now getting around to uploading this to my portfolio. It still looks… decent in my eyes, but I have definitely improved since I first created this. A part of me wants to go back and make a Redux version at some point and maybe even put it up for sale.
The model itself is optimized for a closed room (hence the missing top and bottom), but I definitely could have done better on the UV mapping. I did at least manage to separate the Reactor Casing into quarters in order to mirror the texture and have better texel density, though!
